Kanikapila: Local Experience
Overview
Activity details
Join us every week for an enchanting evening of music, camaraderie, and aloha spirit at our weekly Kanikapila event. Held in Kilauea at Anaina Hou Community Park, this cherished gathering celebrates the rich tradition of Hawaiian music and the joy of spontaneous musical collaboration.
As the sun dips below the horizon, the soft strains of ukuleles, guitars, and other instruments fill the air, beckoning both seasoned musicians and aspiring enthusiasts to come together in harmony. Whether you're a seasoned strummer or just learning your first chords, all are welcome to join in the fun!
Under the cover of the beautiful open air Porter Pavilion and beneath a canopy of stars, our Kanikapila sessions transport you to a world where time slows down and worries melt away. Feel the rhythm of the islands as we share classic Hawaiian tunes, contemporary favorites, and impromptu jams that capture the essence of aloha.
As the night unfolds, friendships blossom, and musical bonds are forged, creating memories that last a lifetime. Sit back and soak in the sounds of the islands.
Whether you're a local resident or a visitor from afar, our Kanikapila event offers a warm embrace and a true taste of Hawaiian hospitality led by Coppin Colburn and his Ohana. So grab your friends and family and join us as we come together to celebrate the magic of music, community, and the aloha spirit. Kanikapila – where every strum tells a story, and every note carries the heartbeat of Hawaii.
