Explore the creatures and features that make Galveston beaches unique with Artist Boat’s Bucket Brigade, a FREE interpretive Beach tour at the World Ocean Day Festival!
Learn all about what makes our coast unique with hands-on activities and topics like turbid water, marine debris, Sargassum landings, and more! Beach Tours are FREE for the public, last approximately 45 minutes, and will be offered at East Beach during World Ocean Day. Pre-Registration is required. Spaces are limited.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Water shoes
- A hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses
- UV swim wear, shorts and/or a light long-sleeve shirt
- Drinking water and snacks
- Signed waiver
- Bag for trash or treasures.
WHAT TO BE PREPARED FOR:
- Getting sweaty and sandy. There's sand everywhere!
- Exploring in hot weather. Be prepared with clothes that will keep you cool comfy.
- Stinging jellyfish. We’ve never had any issues with them, but be on the lookout and take appropriate precautions.
- Maintain physical distance (6 feet) from the Artist Boat employee & other guests at all times.
Make sure you keep our beaches clean and pristine! Look for the trash barrels and use them! Our beaches and the creatures who live here thank you!
