Course Prerequisites:
Minimum age: 18 years old
Have 60 logged open water dives
SSI Divemaster or Equivalent
Certified in Perfect Buoyancy Course

TRAINING COSTS:

  • $1500 Tuition per person
  • $610 SSI E-learning materials
  • $70 Professional Registration fee

2 person minimum. If minimum participation is not met, the module will be cancelled and you can either be bumped to the next scheduled event, or refunded

OBJECTIVE:
As an SSI Assistant Instructor you are able to teach a part of the Open Water Course like academic and Pool/confined water with indirect supervision of an Instructor or higher. You also can conduct and certified SSI Specialties when you have the applicable specialty program. This makes you as a valuable SSI professional for a dive center or resort and you may earn great experience to become a dive leader.
The Assistant Instructor is the first part of the whole ITC (Instructor Training Course) and can also combined if you feel ready to become an SSI Open Water Instructor.

DURATION:

  • 8 hour Zoom
  • 8+ hour Classroom
  • 12+ hour Pool
  • 4 days of Ocean Dives

As an active SSI Divemaster you can:

  • Guide certified divers on recreational scuba dives.
  • Teach, supervise and issue recognition cards for the SSI Snorkeling program.
  • Act as a certified assistant for all SSI recreational courses.
  • Assist during open water training dives by taking no more than two (2) students at a time on excursion dives
  • Qualify as a Training Specialist for the SSI Ecology Specialty programs.

DIVER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Open Water Diver Cert. or higher
  • 18 years or older
  • 60 logged open water dives at start of course
  • RSTC Medical Statement signed by a Physician within 1 year
  • Perfect Buoyancy Cert. and/or able to demonstrate mastery
  • Navigation Cert. and/or able to demonstrate mastery
  • Night & Limited Visibility Cert. and/or able to demonstrate mastery
  • Deep Cert. and/or able to demonstrate mastery
  • First Aid/CPR
  • O2 Provider
  • Diver Stress & Rescue Cert.
  • SSI Divemaster or equivelent
  • Boat dive experience

Additional Gear Requirements for Certification Dives are available through rental at additional cost


The payment of Course Fees guarantees TRAINING, not necessarily certification. Certification is EARNED only by successfully meeting all applicable standards and objectives.

  • The Divemaster course will get you certified for any SSI facility in the world!
  • This course is not a job application with Bamboo Reef.
  • If you would like to work for Bamboo Reef, there is a required internship with additional training.
