REVIEWS:

  • Marco Vincent Dive Resort is a wonderful Place to enjoy your Dive Adventure in the Philippines
Diving in the Philippines is not just a vacation, it’s a cultural Dive Adventure. It could not have been made any better than staying and diving at the Marco Vincent Dive Resort in Puerto Galera, less than 3 hours from Manila. As you travel to the outer island you become part of that culture, and each day you increase your enjoyment and respect for the environment, but especially the people.
Marco Vincent made traveling seamless. A van met me in Manila and a representative of the resort then escorted me on the ferry to the Puerto Galera hotel. The food was wonderful and the convenience of eating at the hotel where it was extremely well served and high-quality. The Philippine people are wonderful and everyone at the resort was just top notch.
The Five Star level of service offered by Marco Vincent Dive Resort starts with the staff greeting you as you enter the property, continues with the personalize towel and water bottle on the boat, detailed dive itineraries, and the constant smiling faces and daily greeting by staff. On your last day they deliver your detailed Dive Log to memorize your adventure.
I can't wait to go back!

  • First the boat, then I’ll discuss the resort…
The Big Beth dive boat is spacious. Two dunk tanks for cameras. Oxygen available for emergencies. Accurate Nitrox analyses prior to dives. Charging areas adequate. Areas to spread out. A real stable craft – never once did we need to move cameras due to travel.
I normally would not like going out all day for 4 dives (I like to change batteries, relax for lunch, prepare gear for a night dive, etc.) but on Big Beth, it worked great. The chef from the resort switches over to the galley and the lunches aboard were every bit as good as the dinners at the resort. The cameras and lights could make it through dive 3 but some low battery warnings suggested I change batteries mid-day between dives 2 and 3.
The staff is very attentive to needs and wants. Tank BCD mounting was always perfect height. They knew whose rig was who’s – who likes them sitting high; who likes them sitting low. In my case, my snoot and my tray with camera and light were always handed down safely and securely. Most entered with a giant stride but some of us preferred the ladder. Likewise, some removed their tanks to climb back up; some went up with weights. We were always greeted with a hot towel for our face and snacks came out after each dive.
Divemaster’s Marlon & Sherwin (and Warren) constantly found critters while spreading us out so we could do our own things. It seemed I only had to lift my head up out of the sand, and one of them would signal me over for another subject. They each had the uncanny ability to remember what critters excited us and which things were “don’t bother me with one of those”!
The boat picked us up on the new eco-friendly floating jetty made from recycled plastic. Very impressive! Manager Riza Fermin dove with us a couple days and put together a great trip video. She even organized a blackwater dive which was a unique experience.
The resort was clean and the rooms large. The staff ALL greeted us by name (!) by day one. Even the interns. M.V.’s intern training is a true investment for the future – Interns all got top tier training in the hospitality business. The community benefits from employment. Locals stay rather than seek employment elsewhere. And it became apparent, interns were learning from the best.
Meal courses were described, and presentation was classy – on day one, dessert was bananas flambé. With a flaming flourish! The resort was always clean, and entry always resulted in someone greeting you by name. If you ventured out to see White Beach, a two-block walk down some alleyways emptied out to the beach. We generally stayed in the resort and socialized around the pool or tended to cameras.
Dinners were preceded by a dance of local customs – an educational experience by smiling dancers. Birthdays and dive milestones (1800 dives, 2800 dives, etc.) were celebrated profusely – underwater and on the boat, in the lobby, and at dinner.
    I will definitely return.
