Looking for a shorter, easygoing float? This 2.5-mile tubing trip starts at the State Route 296 bridge and drifts down the beautiful Mad River back to Birch Bark Canoe Livery. It's a relaxing way to enjoy the spring-fed, crystal-clear water without committing to a full-day float. Expect about 2 hours on the river, depending on the current. Tubes only — no canoes or kayaks allowed.

Itinerary
- Check in at Birch Bark Canoe Livery about 15 minutes before your scheduled trip.
- Complete waivers and payments (or handle online ahead of time).
- Shuttle to the launch point at the State Route 296 bridge.
- Start your float — relax and let the river do the work!
- Pass under beautiful tree cover and enjoy the scenery.
- Watch for the Birch Bark sign on the right-hand side — that's your takeout spot.
- Park your tube, return your gear, and you're back where you started!

Check-in details
- Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Sign waivers and finalize payment at arrival or online ahead of time.
- Retail items available (dry bags, T-shirts, etc.).
- Pets welcome — must be leashed while on property and shuttle.
What to bring
- Quick-dry clothing or swimwear (expect to get wet!)
- Water shoes or old sneakers (avoid flip-flops)
- Towel for after the trip (leave in your car)
- Sunscreen and drinking water
- Dry bag for keys, phones, or valuables
- Sunglasses with a strap, if desired
Special requirements
- Minimum age: 6 years old
- Guests must be able to float independently in a tube
- Adult supervision required for guests under 16
Restrictions
- Tubes only — no canoes, kayaks, or personal inflatables
- Alcohol is prohibited (state law on the Mad River)
- Guests must be at least 6 years old

Cancellations
24 hour notice is required for a full refund or credit.
A 50% refund or credit is available with at least 2 hours notice.

Customers will receive a full refund or credit in the event that we decide to close down due to weather, poor river conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
