Embark on a 7-day family adventure that blends outdoor exploration with intentional family connection in the breathtaking landscapes of Utah. Designed for families who want a supportive environment to foster healthy communication, stronger relationships, and deeper understanding, this trip is a chance to unplug, recharge, and reconnect with each other and nature. Together, we’ll paddle through the serene waters of the Green River’s Labyrinth Canyon, engage in meaningful family coaching sessions, and create lasting memories around campfires and scenic vistas.
What's included
Expert Guidance: A professional canoe guide and a Solutions Parenting Support coach will lead and facilitate the experience from start to finish, ensuring a safe and meaningful adventure for your family.
Ground Transportation: Transportation is provided from your arrival at the Grand Junction, CO airport to your departure, making logistics seamless and stress-free.
Accommodations: Lodging is included for the first and last nights of the 7-day experience in a comfortable hotel.
During the trip, families will be provided with 1-2 tents, depending on family size. Additional hotel rooms are available for an optional upgrade fee if desired.All fees and permits are covered.
Meals: We will provide the meals and snacks from Breakfast Day 2 through Lunch on Day 6. Families will be responsible for their own dinners on Day 1 and Day 6 while in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Gear: All camping gear is provided, including tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads. We also supply dry bags for your personal items and all necessary equipment for canoeing.
Tailored Programming: Personalized coaching and activities are designed to support your family’s specific goals and dynamics, creating opportunities for growth, connection, and reflection throughout the journey.
What's not included
Travel Costs: Transportation to and from Grand Junction, Colorado is not included in the trip price.
Unforeseen Circumstances: Any additional costs incurred due to unforeseen travel disruptions or emergencies are the responsibility of participants.
Meals: Dinner on Day 1 and dinner on Day 6 in Grand Junction, Colorado are not included.
Payment Processing Fees: Any fees associated with credit card payments for trip registration are not included.
Personal Expenses: Items such as forgotten personal gear, souvenirs, or other incidental purchases during the trip are not covered.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival & Orientation
Arrive in Grand Junction, Colorado by 4:00 p.m., where our shuttle will transport you to our hotel. Settle in and join us at 6:00 p.m. for a group orientation. We’ll introduce the week’s itinerary, pack our gear into river bags, and begin building connections with the group.
Day 2 - Transport to the Green River & Begin the Journey
After breakfast, we’ll drive two hours into Utah, leaving behind the noise of everyday life and embracing the tranquility of the wilderness. Upon arrival at the Green River, enjoy a picnic lunch and participate in a Canoeing 101 session led by our expert guides. By afternoon, we’ll set off paddling into Labyrinth Canyon, soaking in the beauty of the towering red rock walls as we reach our first campsite.
Day 3 - Explore & Paddle
Each morning begins with the stillness of nature and a hearty, backcountry breakfast prepared by our guides. As we paddle 8-12 miles each day, we’ll stop for lunch and explore hidden side canyons with short hikes. These moments of quiet reflection and adventure will bring your family closer together while connecting with the natural world.
Day 4 - Discover Bow Knot Bend
Today, we’ll arrive at Bow Knot Bend, one of the most iconic spots on the Green River. A short hike to the ridge reveals a breathtaking view of the winding river, showcasing both where we’ve been and where we’re heading. It’s a perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and marvel at the journey.
Day 5 - Final Night on the River
As we set up our final camp, we’ll shift focus to reflecting on the week’s experiences and setting intentions for life beyond the river. Through guided programming, your family will explore how to carry the magic and lessons of this journey into everyday life.
Day 6 - Farewell to the River
After an early breakfast, we’ll paddle our last 7 miles, arriving at Mineral Bottom by midday. A final lunch surrounded by the canyon walls offers a chance to savor the moment. From here, we’ll return to Grand Junction for well-deserved showers and comfortable beds. That evening, join the group for an optional celebratory dinner to say goodbye to new friends and reflect on the shared experience.
Day 7 - Depart for Home
After breakfast, families will head home, carrying the memories, growth, and connection gained from this incredible week.

We’ll cover approximately 45 miles over 5 days.
What skills do I need to join this trip?
None! This trip is perfect for beginners. Whether you’re new to camping or canoeing, all you need is a positive attitude and a willingness to try something new.
What should I pack?
We’ll provide a comprehensive packing list with all the clothing and personal items needed to keep you safe and comfortable during your adventure.
Do you provide gear?
Yes! We’ll supply all camping and paddling gear, so you don’t have to worry about bringing anything extra.
What will we eat?
Our guides double as backcountry gourmet chefs! Expect delicious, homemade meals featuring fresh ingredients like meats, vegetables, and cheeses. We accommodate dietary restrictions and offer plenty of snacks, appetizers, and desserts to keep you fueled and satisfied. Many guests say they eat better on our trips than at home!
How does the family coaching work?
The family coaching sessions are designed to foster growth, connection, and open communication. Your coach will guide activities and conversations that strengthen relationships and encourage reflection, seamlessly integrated into your outdoor adventure.
What if we encounter bad weather?
With proper clothing, the weather can add to the adventure! Our guides carry extra gear to help everyone stay comfortable in inclement conditions. They are skilled at adjusting plans to keep the group safe and comfortable while ensuring a rewarding experience.
What is your refund or cancellation policy?
90+ days before departure: Refund minus a 15% cancellation fee.
60–90 days before departure: Refund minus a 25% cancellation fee.
45–60 days before departure: Refund minus a 35% cancellation fee.
Less than 45 days before departure: Non-refundable.
To avoid cancellation fees, you can apply your trip credit to a future departure. Final payment is due 60 days before the trip.
Do I need travel insurance?

What is the age range for participants?
We recommend this trip for families with children aged 10+ but feel free to reach out if you have younger children and want to discuss options.
How many families will be on the trip?
We aim to keep group sizes small, typically with 2-5 families depending on the family sizes, to create a personalized and supportive environment.

What kind of physical fitness is required?
This trip involves moderate physical activity, including paddling and optional hikes. We tailor activities to the group’s comfort level, and no prior experience is necessary.
Cancellations
Trips canceled 90 days or more from the departure date are eligible for a refund minus a cancellation fee of 15% of the full trip cost. Cancellations made between 90 and 60 days before the departure date are eligible for a refund minus a 25% cancellation fee. Trips canceled within 60 - 45 days of the departure date are subject to 35% cancellation fee. After 45 days your trip is non-refundable. You may choose to avoid the cancellation fee by putting your full trip credit towards a future departure date.
After the deposit, a final payment should be made within 60 days of departure date. If you would like an option for more structured payment plans, please visit our financing site to apply for a payment plan.
