About
The Mary, one of three similar cabins on the west end of town, with a commanding view of the meadow, and a large porch. These log cabins were constructed in the 1930s. It is winterized, has a loft, with one full bed downstairs, and two full beds upstairs, and can accommodate 6 guests.
Our cabins at Burgdorf are simple and rustic. Remember they are sparsely furnished log cabins, so you need to come prepared. In each cabin, you can expect a wood-burning stove for heat and bed with a recently purchased mattress and mattress cover, a clean sheet upon which to place your desired bedding or sleeping bag, as well as a table and chairs. The cabins do not have electricity or water. Outhouses are close by and firewood is on the porch. All cabins are within walking distance of the office and pool area. The surrounding area is scenic and natural. No pets allowed on property: Please leave your furry friends at home. Think camping with a cozy fire, in a clean cabin, with a bed.
What to bring:
- Bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, or desired bedding (subzero Fahrenheit recommended for winter time)
- Cooking utensils and supplies. You can bring your own camp stove if desired as well. It is possible to carefully use pans on the wood heat stoves, but please be mindful of fire danger. Pro-Tip: Pre-wrapped breakfast burritos in tin foil that can be easily heated on the stove make for an easy and delicious meal
- Lighting needs: Some rechargeable battery lighting will be fitted and to remain inside your cabin, but please bring your own lamps as well to safely move about the property (to the pool, your outhouse, etc.)
- A container to carry water from the central spigot
- Additional toilet paper
