Health & Safety

The health and safety of our guests and staff is of utmost importance to the Cairnwood team. Lets stay healthy together!

  • It is recommended that all visitors and staff wear face coverings (covering nose and mouth and secure under chin) regardless of vaccination status when inside the Estate.

  • Tours begin in the Garden House with a 15-minute orientation video. Restrooms are available to wash your hands before we begin. The restrooms and chairs are sanitized between every tour.

  • Guests must be mobile enough to climb stairs, and there is a fair amount of walking inside. We will modify the tour if necessary.

  • The Garden House gift shop is open when you arrive, and you are welcome to shop but gathering in the Garden House afterwards for bagged lunches or visiting is not permitted.

  • An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and visitors and staff with underlying medical conditions are at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. By visiting Cairnwood Estate and the Bryn Athyn Historic District, visitors voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Cairnwood Estate remains committed to prioritizing the health, safety, and well-being of all guests and staff. To that end, we encourage guests and staff alike to continue to remain mindful of physical distancing and other measures to help keep each other healthy. Thank you.

About

Guided tours of Cairnwood Estate reveal the personal history of this grand Beaux Arts country house. Tour participants discover the private side of the family and its integral role in founding the Bryn Athyn community. Tours begin with an orientation video in the Garden House and include three floors of the Main House, the Chapel in the tower, the Cairnwood Family Gallery, Servant’s Quarters, and the Carriage House.

To ensure availability, purchasing tickets in advanced is strongly recommended before visiting; the estate and grounds are periodically closed for private rentals on short notice. Parts of the estate are not fully accessible due to 1895 construction; call for more information or to request tour modifications. Members – please call to receive your free tour(s).
