About

Ready for more adventure? Our Targhee trail is the next step in getting out on the trails on a slightly longer and more adventurous experience.

We'll start our 6 mile journey by meeting at our staging cabin located in the southwestern corner of the lowest parking lot at Grand Targhee Ski Resort. After being introduced to your musher we'll load up in the sled, and head out on groomed, non-motorized traffic trails. We start by criss-crossing over a few nordic ski trails, and then head into the forest, through a meadow, and up a ridge to link up with the main trail set in a private mountainous basin.

Expect to be out on the trail, sitting in the sled, for approximately 60 minutes depending on weather conditions. There will be a significant amount of elevation gain and loss throughout the tour, please be aware that you may need to enter and exit the sled multiple times on trail to assist the musher. Please give us a call if you have any mobility or physical fitness questions or concerns. We can not guarantee you will be allowed to drive the sled during this experience. Please be aware this opportunity is limited to the discretion of the musher and is based on current trail and weather conditions.

Minimum age for this experience is 5 years old. Children under 13 must ride with an adult. No more than 2 guests per sled.

  • Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to go over paperwork and a brief safety presentation. -

What to wear

  • Dress in warm winter layers.
  • Waterproof layers like ski gear are recommended.
  • Be sure to bring a hat, gloves, and a facial covering like a buff, neck gaiter, or scarf.
