The River of Golden Dreams by Canoe

Ages 6+ • 3 Hours • A Summertime Classic and Local Favorite!

Explore Whistler’s lakes and rivers on a canoe adventure.

Duration

3 hours round trip (includes shuttle, training, paddle time)

About

The enchanting journey across Alta Lake and down the River of Golden Dreams is a summertime classic. Begin your adventure by paddling across Whistler's most beautiful lake where you will pass the original site of Myrtle Phillip's summer fishing resort. Following families of ducks and geese into the lush river mouth you'll paddle through floating lilies and around bends of overhanging greenery. Keep your eyes peeled as the River of Golden Dreams is also home to bears, beavers, salmon, herons, deer, muskrats, bald eagles and more. Flowing with the current, you will caption your own boat effectively negotiating the river bends, steering through narrow passages, under bridges and even do a portage. Voted Whistler's #1 activity by the locals.

Please Note: Canadian Wilderness Adventures has complimentary communal drybags to use while on tour to protect valuable items.
