Join us as we head to Michigan! Known as the Crown Jewel of the Great Lakes, Mackinac Island has been Michigan’s beloved summer vacation destination for centuries. No cars. No chain hotels. Just world-famous Mackinac. Explore our scenic island by horse-drawn carriage, by bike, or by stepping out for a stroll. Upon arriving on the island by ferry, we will be free to begin enjoying the island, as our luggage is being transported directly to the hotel for us. We will be staying at the beautiful Island House Hotel! Island House Hotel provides cozy historic charm, gorgeous waterfront views, and the ideal location to downtown. This family-operated estate is a Historic Hotels of America award winner, honored state landmark, and the only hotel located within the Mackinac Island State Park boundaries! Enjoy the indoor pool & hot tub, on-site bike rentals, stargaze by a cozy chiminea fire, relax in a rocking chair on the large front porch and more!
While Mackinac Island is certainly the main attraction, Frankenmuth will not disappoint! En route to AND from Mackinac Island, we will spend our first & last day/night in Frankenmuth, MI! We will visit the famed Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland & spend some time at Frankenmuth’s River Place Shops, where there is an assortment of shops featuring apparel, attractions/experiences, retail/gifts, dining, specialty treats & drinks! There will be some additional time to explore as you wish. We have scheduled a group dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant, where among other things, we will get to try their famed Frankenmuth Chicken! Don’t forget to check out the Glockenspiel! The Bavarian Inn Glockenspiel Tower houses a magnificent 35-bell carillon, a beautiful figurine movement and an illuminated clock, all imported from Germany! The Glockenspiel can be heard for miles around Frankenmuth with lively German and American tunes and hymns. 12pm, 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. are the magical moments when the Glockenspiel comes alive.
