This ticket provides full access to the Barn Gallery, Gardens, and Woodland Walk at Chesterwood. Self-guided access to the Studio is provided based on capacity.

For guaranteed access to Daniel Chester French's Studio, join a guided tour for an additional fee. Access to the Residence is provided via guided tour, available for an additional fee.

Take yourself on a tour of the studio and permanent exhibitions in the Barn Gallery. Our knowledgeable guides will be on hand to answer all your questions! Then explore the grounds and woodland walks at your own pace.

The Studio boasts a 28 foot high ceiling with a reception room, casting room, workspace and unique railroad track system to view works in natural light. Today it is filled with hundreds of French's plaster models and tools, including the original 6' model for the famous Lincoln Memorial statue. See for yourself why French chose this particular spot for his studio when you step outside to take in the view of the Berkshire mountains from the piazza.

Enjoy the stunning Berkshire mountain views, stroll through the formal gardens, venture out on to the Woodland Walk, veer off to climb the steep Ledges Trail, and end with a picnic on the tables in the apple orchard. Find inspiration and a respite at Chesterwood.

What to Know

• Admission to Chesterwood is recommended by purchasing a timed ticket in advance, however, tickets may also be purchased at the Admissions Desk, pending availability
• Please check-in at the Admissions Desk upon arrival to receive your admissions sticker.
• We encourage you to download a Guide to the Landscape & Gardens and a Guide to Chesterwood, to prepare for your visit. These PDFs can be found in your confirmation email upon purchase of a ticket. These items are also available to pick up in paper at the Admissions Desk
