Explore through majestic Savannah country to the agricultural heartland of the Atherton Tablelands. Then into the Oldest Rainforest on Earth for wildlife, waterfall, Dreamtime walk, Pamagirri Dancers, and a ride in an amphibious Army Duck vehicle!

In the morning, we leave the beautiful coastal town of Port Douglas, heading toward the agricultural heartland of the Atherton Tablelands, first stopping at the magnificent Rex Range lookout.

At the Granite Gorge Nature Park we get to see the open savannah country of North Queensland, enjoy the giant boulders, lovely stream and see friendly wild wallabies !!

A brief visit to the unique and fascinating Mareeba Heritage Museum, with an astonishing array of artefacts bringing to life the local area’s incredibly rich and truly fascinating history. The exhibits and displays are exceptionally high quality, many of which are available thanks to the generosity of local residents.

Weather permitting, we venture on a short stroll to see the most spectacular waterfall in north Queensland. This 125 metre cascade is breath-taking in the mellow cool season, or the dramatic misty wet season.

We then indulge in a gourmet lunch in a superb rainforest restaurant, with choices of Porterhouse beef steak, handmade pork sausages, BBQ chicken, vegetable and tofu Korma, pasta salad, pumpkin soup, selection of delicious condiments, and tropical fruit platter. Other dietary needs catered for. Lunch is included in the price.

We then spend a delightful, fun-filled afternoon at the Rainforestation Nature Park in Kuranda.

Set on 100 acres of tropical rainforest, Rainforestation Nature Park is where you can immerse yourself in the wonders of Australia's Far North Queensland. Take a journey on our Army Duck Rainforest Tour, traveling on both land and water your driver identifies and introduces fascinating plants and wildlife. Explore the rich traditions of the local Indigenous culture with our Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience. Encounter some of Australia and North Queensland's most iconic wildlife including the Southern Cassowary and Saltwater Crocodiles in our Koala & Wildlife Park.
