The Kayak Experience
This is one of the best ways you can experience than San Juan Island.
Explore our beautiful State Parks by kayaking from island to island. Our kayak guides will take you to the best camping sites and handle all the logistics.
We use nothing but the best equipment. Three-person tents for couples and two-person tents for solos. This is ample room to spread out for a good night's rest. Sleep kits will include a Therm-A-Rest inflatable sleeping pad, a warm Marmot or Therm-A-Rest sleeping bag, soft sleeping bag liners, and camp pillows.
Using pre-trip forms, we will develop custom menus to account for the dietary restrictions and preferences of the group. All meals are healthy and tasty. All overnight guides have experience with food preparation and menu development and hold a Washington State Food Handler Permit.
This is the ultimate overnight island wilderness adventure.
We operate with small group sizes to ensure you can easily communicate with your kayak guide, reduce our impact on beaches and wildlife, and the overall safety of the groups. Our goal is to provide experiences, not cattle drives.
Your kayak guide is key to having the best kayak experience.
All of our kayak guides complete very rigorous training. Your guide will be safe and knowledgeable in all things sea kayaking. Guides complete a full naturalist and island history training. Once guides have graduated from our training they are more than equipped to handle any situation on the water.

Itinerary
The itinerary is not set until the day prior to departure. Once your guide has the latest weather forecast to correlate with the tides will the itinerary be set. But the following will provide an idea of how each day will go.
Day 1:Pack up and head out. Day one can be a bit of a scramble as you get introduced to a lot of equipment and paddling techniques. Once we leave the beach you can expect approximately 12 miles of paddling with a lunch stop midway.
Day 2: The only day where the group can decide on a lazy day and basecamp or pack up and paddle to another island. Choosing the basecamp option allows for a mellow morning and a shorter day paddle. Choosing to pack up and head to a new island will commit you to another 12 miles of paddling.
Day 3: Time to head back. Usually, an earlier start to the day ensures everyone gets breakfast and plenty of time to pack up. Being the final day we head back to San Juan Island and plan to be back in town by 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
Tour Preparation

Travel Notice
We strongly advise arriving the day before on San Juan Island.
If you plan to take the Washington State Ferry the morning of the tour it is likely it will not be on time and we will not delay our departure. This will be considered a no-show and no refunds will be given.
At the end of the tour do not make tight travel plans. Though it is rare, weather can delay our arrival back to town for several hours. Mother Nature controls when we get back.
