Do we need a reservation to kayak at Express Watersports?
Hourly self guided kayak rentals do not require a reservation. Kayaks are available on a first come-first serve basis.

Reservations are required for the 1.5 hour Guided Kayak Tour. Reservations can be made online or by calling 843-357-7777.
All reservations must arrive 30 minutes before departure time so that we may check your group in.

What is the cancellation policy for the Guided Kayak Tour?
We require 48 hours notice of cancellation in order for us to refund you. If you cancel within 48 hours or are a 'No Show' you will be charged the the full amount.

Do you have restrooms?
Yes. Express Watersports is a full service watersports center. We have restrooms, showers and changing rooms for use after your kayak adventure.

Where do we park?
We have free parking at our watersports center. Please lock all valuables in your car.

What about weather conditions in Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet?
Weather conditions come and go in Myrtle Beach. For a Guided Kayak Tour, the Tour Guide may either cancel or delay a trip if weather conditions are unfavorable. Rain squalls usually move through quickly. If the Guide cancels the trip there is no charge. If you are able to reschedule we will try again next available time, or if you prefer, we will give you a full refund.

Do we sign waivers?
Waivers are required. If the participant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian is required to sign for the minor.

How long is the rental?
Kayaks are rented by the hour. We also have half day and full day rentals available. The guided tours are 1.5 hours long.

What is the minimum age?
For kayakers to paddle on their own they should be 12 years of age.

What is the weight limit?
250 pounds

Do we need to know how to kayak?
No! It’s very easy. We will give you an introductory briefing of our area, a recommended route and instruction on how to paddle.

What is included in the rental?
Kayak, life jacket, paddle

Do we wear shoes or flip flops?
We recommend you wear some type of shoes to the dock and then remove them and leave them on our private dock or in your kayak.

Can we get out of the kayak and explore?
Yes. Please be aware of oyster shells which will cut your feet. We recommend wearing hard sole shoes to prevent cuts.

Also be aware of Pluff Mud. This is a very soft mud which may allow one to sink to their knees and possibly lose a shoe.

What if we get lost?
We recommend you carry a phone in a dry bag and call us if you’re lost. We will always find you.

Will the kayak tip over?
They can tip over but it is not very common. Just remember: do not stand up in your kayak! If you tip the boat over, don’t panic. Swim to the nearest island with the kayak, dump the water out and get back in.

I need to rent a kayak but my friend has his own. Can he put in on your docks?
Please ask the staff. Depending upon the traffic on our boat docks at times it may be possible. There is a Public Boat Ramp one block away where your friend can put in their kayak and paddle to meet you at our dock. If their kayak is allowed to put in at our docks, your friend will just need to sign a waiver and take his/her boat over to the dock.

Can I bring my dog or dogs in the kayak?
Yes. We love dogs!

Can we fish out of the kayak?
Yes! However you will need your own South Carolina Saltwater Fishing License. Kayak fishing is quite popular.

What kind of kayaks do you have?
We have “sit in” style kayaks. They are very stable in the water.

What about my physical fitness?
Guests should consider their physical fitness level and medical history when determining whether this ride is appropriate. Guests with cardiac conditions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, other heart or respiratory conditions and/or previous back or neck injury or any other medical condition should take particular caution when selecting this activity. Guests who have concerns should consult their personal physician before engaging in any activity that may be strenuous for them.
Note: Women who are pregnant may not participate. Guests with heart, lung or back problems may not participate. Guests who have been drinking alcohol or under the influence of drugs may not participate.

Can we tip the Captain?
Captains and their crew work for tips.

What is your season for renting kayaks?
Express Watersports kayak rentals are available year round.

PUBLIC TRIP CANCELLATION POLICY
If your trip is cancelled due to the Captain/Ranger's discretion and/or weather then you will receive a full refund or option to re-book your tour on another date based on availability.

Guests cancelling their tour reservations 48 hours or more prior to departure are eligible to receive a 90% refund or can elect to re-book the tour on another date based on availability.

We are also pleased to now offer Trip Protection! For a small fee Trip Protection can be added to any booking allowing cancellation up to 24 hours prior to departure! Trip Protection can be purchased at check-out.

Guests not purchasing Trip Protection and cancelling their tour reservations less than 48 hours prior to departure are not eligible for a refund and will forfeit 100% of their payment unless our cancellation insurance was purchased at time of booking.
