Kealakekua Afternoon Snorkeling Tour Details
A shorter version of our popular morning snorkel tour, the afternoon tour is a 3-½ hour adventure to the incredible Kealakekua Bay!
Our knowledgeable staff will share with you the history and culture of Hawai’i as we travel from the birthplace of the great monarch King Kamehameha III, who reigned longer than any other royalty in Hawaii’s history. As we cruise south to Kealakekua Bay, we will pass by the Kuamo’o Battlefield, learning about the final battle that occurred at this site, as well as the Royal Holua Slide, which is the largest and best-preserved in all of Hawai’i.
The Captain Cook Monument was erected by the British on the shore of Kealakekua Bay, to commemorate this site as the place that Captain James Cook initially made landfall in Hawai’i, that also was the place that he perished. The bay itself holds a fascinating history of festivals, gods, and is a sacred place for Hawaiians.
The waters of Kealakekua Bay offer some of the best visibility in the entire state and a wealth of tropical reefs to explore. We provide guidance, snorkel gear, flotation devices, and also have a high dive and two 15 foot water slides so that you can enjoy this fantastic site to its max for the afternoon! The cruise lasts for 3-½ hours after departing from Keauhou Bay, including 1-½ hours to snorkel in Kealakekua Bay.
Great Snorkeling — Great Value!
The Afternoon Kealakekua Snorkel Tour is one of the best-kept secrets around, a family-favorite! Guests are essentially enjoying the popular morning cruise without the meals (breakfast & lunch). The overall cruise duration is therefore shortened a bit, but with plenty of time to have fun snorkeling. Plus, afternoons in Kealakekua Bay are generally absent of other tour boat operators – providing for a truly serene experience.
