About

Our 26-acre Southern California Sanctuary is located on a beautiful hacienda ranch in Acton, just 45 minutes from Hollywood.

When you visit Farm Sanctuary’s Southern California Sanctuary, you’ll know right away that it is a special place. Our Sanctuaries are home to rescued cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and other farm animals — and each has a special story. Their stories of struggle and survival, against all odds, give us insight into the realities farm animals face in the modern food system and also introduce us to inspiring individuals through their heartwarming tales. Animals who began their lives abused and neglected now spend their days digging in the dirt, basking in the sun, and napping in the straw. Each animal is given the freedom and attention needed not only to recover but to thrive.

We are closely monitoring the weather and will contact you to reschedule or cancel your tour under extreme heat conditions. Please check the weather forecast prior to booking your tour. Text 661 208 9220 or email experienceca@farmsanctuary.org.

Planning Your Visit

In case of cancellation due to inclement weather, the Sanctuary Experience team will contact guests the morning of their tour.

Please note that the tour path is not paved. The road through the shelter area is used by farm equipment and is largely composed of compacted dirt and gravel. The tour path includes hardened surfaces, as well as rocky, grassy, and/or uneven terrains. The path may be slippery or dusty at times with short segments of the path having mild inclines and declines.

Please also note that there is limited shade and few areas to sit or rest while on the tour.

For guest safety, wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers cannot enter the cow and pig pastures. The aviaries are also not wheelchair accessible. If you need specific accommodations, please contact us prior to the tour.

Need additional accommodations? We want to make sure all our visitors have a meaningful and safe experience and are comfortable during a visit to our Sanctuaries! Therefore, we encourage individuals with disabilities to contact us at least two weeks in advance of their visit to set up arrangements for any necessary accommodations. For more information and to make accommodations requests, please contact experienceca@farmsanctuary.org.

For the Safety of the Animals

Diseases are easily transmitted on shoes and even tires. If you have visited another sanctuary, farm, or location with chickens, turkeys, or ducks in the last 48-72 hours prior to your visit, we ask that inform us, so that we can provide you and our residence with additional safety precautions.

Companion animals are not allowed on guided tours or shelter grounds at any time. Please refer to the FAQ on our website for more information on our companion animal policy.

Service animals are not permitted in certain areas of the sanctuary. Please contact us in advance to make arrangements for your visit.
