Occulus Canyon Tour

Deep within the spectacular Navajo sandstone canyons of the San Rafael Swell lies a myriad of hidden gems. Our adventure begins with an exciting hike and scramble through an impressive slot canyon. Along the way we pass towering walls decorated with desert-varnish and one of the most spectacular Barrier-style pictograph panels in the area. At the top of the slot canyon we reach the high-point of our trip with magnificent 360 degree views of Robbers Roost, Canyonlands, Bears Ears, and Henry Mountains. It is here we begin our descent down a second canyon to an awe-inspiring natural arch. Guests have the option for a spectacular free-rappel 90 ft through the Occulus (natural arch) and into the vast alcove below that was used by Ancient Puebloan Indians.
