About

Learn about how coffee is grown and processed while having an up-close experience roasting the perfect bean. With gorgeous views and exclusive locations, enjoy this farm to cup tour with the whole family!

Ka’u is an area full of rich history dating back to the old Hawaiian days. With scaping geological formations from the ocean to the mountain, this is a paradise for those seeking a glimpse of true Hawaii. Dense native forests surround the watersheds filtering the clean freshwater that comes trickling down the ravines. Native plants are plentiful in the wide range of climate zones and elevations. Learn about these native plants and the many uses both in olden times and in modern-day.

The fertile volcanic soil makes for a perfect growing medium that produces high quality, award-winning coffee. Ka’u Coffee Mill sits on the slopes of Mauna Loa and is home to thousands of acres of lush agricultural and conservation land. Mist descends from mountains above the mill flowing over fields of green in the mornings and evenings. Fresh groundwater flows down from deep in the mountain filling deep reservoirs.
