Victorian Darien: A Historic Homes Happy Hour Tour

Darien, CT

May 3, 2025 | 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. | 1 hour (approx.)

Step inside historic homes and see and learn about many more as we tour Prospect Avenue, one of Darien’s most charming streets. Its residences reflect a variety of the architectural styles en vogue in the late 19th century—Queen Anne, Italianate, and more! Prospect Avenue also has a distinct place in the town’s history as its first subdivision, laid out in 1867 and quickly attracting wealthy and sophisticated newcomers. "The prospects are that Darien is about to awake from its long sleep," wrote the Norwalk Gazette in anticipation of this milestone.

Interior stops include a well-appointed vernacular farmhouse from 1870 and the beautiful Italianate-style George Mather House.

Join us for this unique experience to see historic homes, inside and out, and immerse yourself in culture and history. Offered one time only! Space is limited.

This is a guided walking “happy hour” tour, no libations but a lot of fun packed into an hour! (Please note, this is an approximate time, the tour may be slightly longer, but Happy Hour and 15 Minutes doesn't have the same ring…)

AIA members: This tour is valid for 1 CEU credit via AIACT.
Meet-up/parking location is provided in an email after registration.
