Experience the magic of creating with all-natural indigo!
• Learn about indigo here at the home of indigo baron and Winyah Indigo Society’s first president, Thomas Lynch, Sr.!
• Used for the distinctive blue British uniform, indigo was South Carolina’s first cash crop
• All-natural indigo dyeing basics are covered as you create a bandana and tea towel to take home
• Various wrapping & dyeing techniques will be demonstrated
• Items to be dyed and all other materials necessary to create different designs will be provided
About the Workshop
• Skill Level Beginner & Intermediate
• Classes are weather permitting and may be rescheduled
• Please note this class takes place partially outdoors
• Please wear old clothes and closed-toe shoes
• Bring long latex or rubber gloves if you have them
• Workshop is non-refundable and limited to 10 students
• Minimum class size is 4; if minimum is not met, then class will be rescheduled

What to Wear
• Please wear old clothes and closed-toe shoes
• Bring long latex or rubber gloves if you have them; disposable ones will be provided if you don't have your own
• The plantation is located in a beautiful natural setting, which unfortunately includes mosquitoes. We do spray for mosquitoes regularly, but insect repellent is helpful for those who are sensitive.
