Activity details
Spend time with one of our local Cultural Historians who grew up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. These story tellers and artisans will honor their ancestors by sharing the history of Rice Cultivation and the lives of the enslaved who worked on the plantations of the Santee Delta.
What's included
Spend time with our Cultural Historian in the original slave cabins and on the river front of Hopsewee. If you add on the museum pass, enjoy time in the museum dedicated to the enslaved people who lived and worked at Hopsewee. Your museum pass gives you access to the museum all day.
What's not included
The Historic Landmark House Tour is not included with this ticket. Please purchase a separate ticket for the house tour.
Dining in the tearoom is not included. We recommend making reservations in the
tearoom
Itinerary
Arrive at Hopsewee and check in with the Hostess in the River Oak Cottage (Building with the Red Roof)
Meet in the slave cabin closest to the tearoom when it is time for your tour to begin.
We suggest you arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in and restroom stops.
Cancellations
Activity takes place rain or shine: The activity runs regardless of weather conditions. In the rare situation where the seller is forced to cancel the event, tickets will be refunded.
