About

You get a little of everything on this route. It tours through neighborhoods, parks, industrial areas, vineyards, and wheat fields. The airport district is an interesting region to explore; the whole area is owned by the Port of Walla Walla and many of the buildings are WWII era mess halls, hangar buildings, and firehouses. In one area, there is a row of wine incubators. These spaces are leased to new wineries for up to 5 years while they get operations up and running, then they must move to a new location. While some of the tasting rooms are a little less glamorous, the wine is exceptional, and it is a wonderful place to find up-and-coming wineries and revisit some old favorites

We really just skirt the edge of the east side, but you will get to experience the flavor of the area, and see some of the amazing views before we return to town to finish our day. This route is approximately 10-12 miles.

What to bring/wear/consider:

  • Please dress for the weather and consider that you will be riding a bike. Dresses or skirts can make riding tricky and are therefore, discouraged.
  • Please eat a substantial breakfast. Tasting on an empty stomach is never a good idea.
  • Don’t forget sunscreen.
  • Sneakers are recommended; flat soled, closed-toe shoes are required.
  • Water! It can be very hot out on the road. We will provide water and water bottles. Hydration is critical!
  • Mask

What to leave at home:

  • Your guide will be able to carry your personal belongings but there is limited space on a bike.
  • Please just bring what you need. Leave large purses at home.
  • We also love our pets but unfortunately we cannot accommodate them on our tours and they are not allowed at many of our stops.
