Winter, Spring & Fall Classes are 3 Days | 9am-5pm each day

Summer Classes are 4 Days | 8am-1pm ; 8am-3pm last day

Our certified instructors will take you from landlubber to experienced skipper capable of handling 20′ – 27′ sloop-rigged keelboat by day, in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. It is a hands-on class, spending 90% of your time on the water. You steer the boat and you trim the sails.

Our training sessions are lively, interactive, and designed to help you retain the theory so it will always be there to enhance your sailing enjoyment on the water. We have classes structured for all experience levels looking to become certified.

Once you are registered, we will mail you:

• ASA’s “Sailing Made Easy” Text Book (Read before Day 1!)
• The Handbook of Georgia Boating Laws and Responsibilities
• U.S. Coast Guard U.S. Aids to Navigation System
• A Boaters Guide to the Federal Requirements for Recreational Boats

During your class:

Your class will be on the water training. 90% of the course will be on the water sailing, 10% in classroom teaching.

Final day is test day! You will take a skills test on the water as well as a multiple choice written test.

Once you are certified, you will receive:

• ASA Logbook to keep track of your certifications and hours
• Free 4 hour rental on one of our Capri 22’s (a $400 value)
• $600 discount on joining our Passport Sailing Club

You will meet your instructor on Dock X at the boat house. Please arrive at the dock by your class start time (9am in the spring/fall, 8am in the summer)

Students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the course.

We sail under all kind of weather conditions. Yes, even rain! Check the weather before you come and dress appropriately. If the Dock Master deems the weather too bad for sailing, instruction and review will continue in the classroom or on the dock until the weather passes.
