About
The best part of Lappish evenings is the glowing snow in front of the snowmobile together with the dark starry sky. While guests need a bit of luck to see the Northern Lights, this safari offers a beautiful evening snowmobile ride to a remote location in nature, with plenty of driving time to search for the Auroras. As you move further towards the wilderness, you will get a glimpse of the welcoming teepee.
Inside, you will be welcomed by a cozy feeling of candles and reindeer skins and the wonderful aroma of the campfire. You can warm up your fingers by the fire and then go outside to observe the night sky. Northern Lights or not, the Arctic night sky is impressive. The winter clothing makes it possible to lie on the snow and enjoy the unique view from the Arctic Circle.
Includes:
- 2-hour snowmobiling (Sleigh pulled by guide for children and adults who do not wish to drive a snowmobile)
- 1-hour campfire inside a teepee with campfire snack.
- Activity’s return transfer from/to Nova Skyland Hotel reception
- Program guiding and snowmobile instruction in English
- Winter thermal clothing & equipment (overalls, boots, gloves, woollen socks, balaclava and helmet)
Important to Know
- Each person driving a snowmobile must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license (B) valid in Finland. Please remember to take your driving license (original or electronic copy) with you on the snowmobile safari as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari.
- Driving a motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating drugs is prohibited by the laws of Finland.
- Each snowmobile is shared by two guests taking turns in driving. Two persons per snowmobile. For groups of 3 persons or other odd numbers of people, we highly recommend purchasing one single-driver supplement.
- Snowmobile driver is held liable for any damages caused to the vehicle. Personal self-liability is max. 1000€/person/snowmobile/case of accident. By purchasing a 25€ self-liability insurance before the start of the safari, you reduce the amount of self-liability down to max. 250€/person/snowmobile/case of accident. Self-liability insurance is personal and valid in one snowmobile safari.
Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis
If you catch the Northern Lights during your stay in Lapland you can consider yourself very lucky.
The possibility to see this magical ever changing phenomenon of the night sky may depend on several factors: the weather, the solar activity, the timing and the location to list a few. This also makes it almost impossible to predict their plans in advance. It could also be that they are very bright and vibrant and sometimes it is difficult to see them with a bare eye.
That’s why we are never able to promise 100% that you will see them during our tours but we will try to do our very best to provide you the most optimal setting. However, even if you are not lucky enough to see them, the atmosphere of the Arctic night and its peacefulness will definitely be an unforgettable experience.
