Ravensbruck Concentration Camp Tour
A Nazi Nightmare
Overview
Activity details
This private day trip takes you from Berlin to the haunting grounds of Ravensbrück, the largest women’s concentration camp of the Nazi regime. Led by one of Berlin’s foremost WWII specialists, this immersive experience goes far beyond the textbook, guiding you through personal stories, powerful exhibitions, and preserved historical structures that bear witness to the strength and suffering of over 120,000 women, children, and prisoners held here.
You’ll travel in a private vehicle from your accommodation in Berlin to the memorial site. As you enter the camp grounds, a heavy silence settles over the forested landscape — broken only by the stories your guide reveals.
Walk through the renovated SS headquarters, stand in the preserved prison cells, and explore exhibitions such as “In the SS-Auxiliary”, which reveals the chilling normalcy of the perpetrators’ daily lives. At the slave labour textile factory, learn how the prisoners’ forced labour fed the SS war machine — and at every step, come face to face with choices made by both victims and perpetrators.

Arrival at Ravensbrück Memorial Site
As you approach the memorial, your guide will provide an overview of the camp’s structure, scale, and function within the Nazi regime.
We’ll begin our visit at the Visitor Centre, where you’ll be given maps and materials to accompany the experience.
SS Headquarters Building & Permanent Exhibition
Our first stop is the former SS administrative building, now a museum that sets the stage for what Ravensbrück was — and what it became.
Inside, you’ll explore the permanent exhibition, which provides essential context about the camp’s founding, operation, and liberation.
“In the SS-Auxiliary” Exhibition
Housed within the original camp compound, this exhibition examines the role of female guards and the training camp that prepared them.
You'll learn about the disturbing ordinariness of these women’s lives and the choices they made under a totalitarian regime.
The Cell Building (Camp Prison)
One of the most emotionally powerful parts of the memorial.
Your guide will lead you through the preserved camp prison, where political prisoners, resistance fighters, and others were detained, punished, and sometimes executed.
This is a space for reflection — you’ll be invited to move through it quietly and respectfully.
Crematorium & Memorial Stone
We’ll walk to the site of the crematorium, where your guide will explain the scale of deaths that occurred at Ravensbrück and the methods of extermination used.
A moment of silence is encouraged at the Memorial Stone, placed near the execution site.
Short Break
Take a short break to, reflect, or have a light snack.
Your guide will remain available for questions and informal conversation.
Slave Labour Exhibition & Textile Factory Ruins
After the break, we continue to the textile production building, where prisoners were forced into gruelling labour for the SS-owned company “Texled.”
This part of the tour reveals the economic engine behind the camp and how exploitation was systematised for profit.
Closing Discussion & Final Walk Through the Grounds
Guests are invited to share thoughts, ask questions, or spend a few more moments in silence on the grounds.
Departure from Ravensbrück
We return to the vehicle and begin the journey back to Berlin.
