A Palmetto Carriage tour offers a blend of knowledge, wit, humor and history and is exciting and ever changing, a seamless fusion of 19th century conveyance in a 21st century city.
Tours run continuously from 9:00am-5:00pm, typically departing every 15-30 minutes

Add on Fort Sumter Tour
Step aboard the only commercial boat transportation to historic Fort Sumter. Boats depart daily from Liberty Square in downtown Charleston or Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant. Sit back and relax on this 30-minute cruise to historic Fort Sumter. Upon arrival, allow the National Park Service rangers to answer questions about the history of Fort Sumter and learn about its pivotal role in the American Civil War. Spend an hour exploring before boarding the boat for a cruise back to your departure point.
Add on the Plantation tour at Middleton Place:
• Explore 65 acres of formal landscaped gardens at the beautiful Middleton Place
• Experience a look at 18th and 19th century plantation life with costumed craftspeople and historic animal breeds in the Plantation Stableyards.

Add on the tour of the Edmondston-Alston House:
Tour the inside one of Charleston’s most beautiful and historic homes. Located on The Battery, The Edmondston Alston house is the only house museum in Charleston that commands a magnificent view of the Charleston Harbor. This home was built in 1825 and has been beautifully maintained.

Rescheduling Policy
• Group carriage tickets may be canceled or rebooked up to 1 hour before the tour begins with no penalties. Within 1 hour there are no refunds offered for cancellations and a $25 fee may apply for rebookings. Please call 843-723-8145 to make changes to your reservation.
