Join us as we celebrate the history of H.G. Roosters, a beloved West Palm Beach landmark that has been a beacon of community, resilience, and celebration for over 40 years.

Roosters has proudly operated under its current name since 1984, but its legacy dates to the 1940s, when it first opened and began serving as a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community. Roosters opened during the early days of the AIDS crisis, taking the lead in raising funds and providing support to those affected by the virus.

After overcoming challenges posed by the COVID-19 shutdown and a devastating fire, Roosters’ impact was recognized in 2021 when it was designated a historic site—only the third LGBTQ+ bar in the U.S. to earn such a distinction.
