Decolonial Flavors of Lisbon
Learn about Portugals' history through the flavors of Mozambique, Angola, Brazil and Goa.
Overview
Activity details
The Decolonial Flavors of Lisbon is a journey through Portugal’s history, connecting Goa, Angola, Mozambique and Brazil through dishes that tell stories. Portugal’s past and present are deeply intertwined with its former colonies. Today, many people from these nations call Portugal home, bringing their traditions, stories, and cuisines with them.
This isn’t your typical food tour. In this food tour we will celebrate the flavors of other cultures deeply connected to Portugal. This tour goes beyond just food—it’s about uncovering untold histories, still alive today through the flavors we’ll explore together.
Over 4.5 hours , we’ll stroll in a small group (maximum 12 people), visiting four local businesses. It’s intimate, relaxed, and more like exploring with friends than a tourist activity.
We recommend taking this tour early in your Lisbon visit, so by the end, you’ll feel confident to explore neighborhoods where locals live and discover authentic places to eat.
As part of our sustainability values, we encourage you to bring a container for leftovers. It’s a thoughtful way to ensure you can enjoy every bite of this experience—even after the tour!
And don’t forget: come hungry—four unforgettable stops are waiting for you.
