Cape Henlopen State Park
1.5 - 2 Hours • Ages 8+
Paddle up close and personal with the Atlantic Bottle Nose Dolphins!
Duration
90 Minutes - 2 Hours
About
During this tour, we paddle in and around the Delaware Bay, explore around the Cape Henlopen Point, and sometimes into the Atlantic Ocean (conditions permitting).
More Info
This tour starts and finishes at Cape Henlopen State Park. Please note, there is a park entrance fee ($5 in-state tags / $10 out-of-state tags). If no one is at the ticket booth, please use the self-pay kiosk and please plan a few extra minutes so you can arrive on time for the kayak tour. Your pass is good for the day, and there is a nature center, World War II observation tower, miles of trails and of course plenty of beach to explore.
We can’t guarantee seeing Dolphins, but we try our best to be in the right spot to do so. Besides hopefully seeing some dolphins, we paddle near a few lighthouses that have guided and protected our shore for over 100 years. We often encounter osprey, brown pelicans, and other critters that call the Cape home.
