FAQs
Tipping
A note on tipping!
Some of our guests are unsure of the etiquette for gratuities for guides.
Your guides will work hard to ensure your trip is memorable, safe and fun. They are skilled outdoor professionals who will educate, entertain, manage risk, and strive to provide a great experience. If they meet or surpass your expectations, please consider a gratuity!
In the U.S., guidelines are similar to a restaurant (15-20%), but as we like to say on the river, "you can always tip over, but you can never over tip!"

Insure Your Trip
Please consider using a credit card or travel insurance for added protection. Recommended credit cards with trip protection include:
- Chase Sapphire Preferred / Reserve
- Capital One Venture X
- Amex Platinum
- BOA Premium Rewards
If your credit card doesn’t offer protection, consider dedicated travel insurance providers like:
- Allianz
- World Nomads
- Travel Guard
- Tin Leg
These companies offer coverage for activities, courses, clinics, or your entire trip — often at a reasonable cost.
Purchasing travel insurance, regardless of trip size or length, helps protect against losses from unforeseen or last-minute changes.
