Health & Safety Guidelines for First-Time Divers
🩺 Health Requirements
- Participants must be in good health and able to participate in physical activity.
- If you have any medical conditions (e.g., asthma, heart conditions, epilepsy) or are taking medications, consult your doctor and notify us before booking.
- Pregnant individuals cannot participate in scuba diving activities.
- Feeling unwell? Please reschedule for another day.
📜 Medical Questionnaire
- All participants must complete a medical questionnaire before diving.
- A doctor’s clearance may be required if you answer “yes” to any questions about health conditions.
🤿 Pre-Dive Preparation
- No prior diving experience is required, but you must feel comfortable in the water.
- Avoid alcohol or recreational drugs for at least 12 hours before your dive.
- Stay hydrated and eat a light meal beforehand.
🎓 Briefing & Training
- All participants will receive a full safety briefing and training from a certified dive instructor before entering the water.
- Practice basic skills in shallow water before progressing to deeper areas.
🌊 In-Water Safety
- Follow all instructions from your dive instructor at all times.
- Never hold your breath while underwater; always breathe slowly and continuously.
- Stay close to your instructor and within the designated diving area.
- Equalize your ears frequently during descent to avoid discomfort.
- Signal to your instructor immediately if you feel unwell or need assistance.
🛟 Equipment Use
- We provide sanitized, properly maintained diving equipment.
- Your instructor will help fit and check your gear before the dive.
- Do not attempt to adjust or remove equipment without your instructor’s assistance.
⚠️ Safety Limits
- Maximum depth for Discover Scuba Diving is 40 feet (12 meters).
- You must remain under direct supervision of your instructor at all times.
🚨 Emergencies
- Your instructor carries safety equipment and first aid supplies.
- If you experience any discomfort (e.g., ear pain, dizziness, or difficulty breathing), signal your instructor immediately.
☀️ Environmental Considerations
- Avoid touching coral, marine life, or the ocean floor to protect yourself and the ecosystem.
- Respect all marine life and keep a safe distance from larger animals.

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater and explore the underwater world? Scuba diving allows you to experience a completely different world that is unlike anything you've ever seen before.
With PADI Discover Scuba Diving, you can take your first breaths underwater and experience the thrill of scuba diving. The PADI professional and experienced team at Rincon Diving & Snorkeling will guide you through your first dive and ensure your safety at all times. You'll learn the basics of scuba diving and get comfortable with the gear before taking the plunge and diving into the crystal-clear waters of Rincon. Discover the thrill of swimming alongside colorful fish, spotting hidden sea creatures, and exploring a world that few people ever get to see. So, what are you waiting for? Try scuba diving for the first time and create memories that will last a lifetime!
No diving experience necessary. Must have a basic swimming ability.
NO MINIMUM number of participants required to book. Maximum of 4 participants per instructor. If the number of participants in your group exceeds the quantity available to book online, Call the Dive Center for personalized attention.
WANT MORE:
The Discover Scuba Diving experience is a great way to get a head start on your PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification. That's because the skills you complete during this adventure, such as mask clearing, regulator recovery and sharing air, may credit these certification levels, so you can continue where you left off. Be sure to ask you instructor for more information.
IDEAL FOR:

- Minimum age: 10 years
Note: You will be required to complete a PADI Medical Questionaire at Check-in. Presence of Health conditions listed on the Medical Statement will prevent participation without a doctor's consent. Call the dive center if you have any concerns.
As part of the training, you will learn that you need to allow 18 hours to pass before flying after diving!
WHATS INCLUDED:
All diving & snorkeling equipment. Wear your swimsuit. You might also want to rent a wetsuit for comfort and warmth.
Our experienced guides will help you select the right equipment for your needs and ensure that it fits properly and is comfortable to wear. With our top-of-the-line gear and expert guidance, you can relax and enjoy the underwater world with confidence and peace of mind.
Expert Safety Briefings and instruction.
The best part is you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy this experience.. All our staff are professional PADI Instructors who will take the time to teach you safely.
EXCLUDED:
Transportation to/from dive center to tour entry point (5 min drive away). Too far to walk but only a 5-minute drive to entry point on beach. GUIDES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO CARRY PASSENGERS.
🚫 Weather & Cancellations
We get it—plans can change. Here’s our cancellation breakdown:
-To receive a full refund, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your tour.
-Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled tour are not eligible for a refund.
-If you do not show up and do not contact us, a refund cannot be issued. Our team will attempt to reach you at the time of the tour if you’re a no-show.
Weather-Related Cancellations: Safety first! We may cancel or reroute due to weather or other unavoidable reasons. If this happens, we’ll work to reschedule or offer a full refund if necessary.
