Join us on a fully guided, slow paced, and family friendly sunset tour of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.
You will join our trained Dune Guide on a tour of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes ORV Park. You will drive around the park following the dune guide, going over some smaller hills, checking out the popular spots, go through the trail area and then park your vehicles to enjoy the Sunset over Lake Michigan. Plenty of photo ops
This is a guaranteed hour of Dune time. We ask that everyone arrive at the designated arrival time ONE HOUR BEFORE START TIME to ensure we have adequate time on the dunes.
Arriving late could result in cancellation due to holding up the rest of the group.

Itinerary
Arrival: Check-in 1 hour before the tour start time at Silver Lake Buggy Rentals (8288 W Hazel Rd, Mears MI 49436)
Paperwork: Check-in with a buggy agent, fill out waivers, ask any questions and gather your belongings for the tour!
Safety: We will watch a 8 minute safety video together as a group. It is important that all drivers pay attention to the video.
Transportation: We will all get on the shuttle busses for a 5-8 minute ride to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Off-Road Vehicle Park to meet our Dune Guide and Vehicles.
Get on the dunes: After a brief safety speech you will get into the vehicle and learn how the vehicle operates. After everyone is settles we will head up unto the dunes following the Dune Guide!
Tour Experience: The first lap will consist of a couple of stops and info to get everyone oriented in the park. Following the first lap we will check out the trail section, climb some smaller hills, do some different laps around the park to check out the views and pull down to Lake Michigan to watch the sunset! After the sun has set we will load back up and head out to the parking lot!
Return: We will meet our bus driver in the parking lot, employees will load up vehicles while you get on the bus. After everyone is loaded we will head back to Silver Lake Buggy Rentals and release your damage deposit!

What to bring
Eye Protection is required to get into the state park. This includes glasses, sunglasses, goggles, safety glasses, etc. We sell these items in store and you are welcome to bring your own.
Valid Driver’s License: Persons 21 and older are permitted to drive the 4 seat Teryx. Persons who meet this age requirement and would like to drive, please bring your Valid Driver’s
Jacket or Sweatshirt Even if it is a hot day we recommend coming prepared with a jacket tor sweatshirt because it can get chillier by the lake and when the sun goes down.
Special requirements
- 21+ with a valid drivers license to drive.
- Children must be at least 2 years of age and be in a forward facing car seat. If they use a car seat or booster seat they must use it in the rear seat of the vehicle.
Restrictions
- We do not recommend this activity for Pregnant Women
- We do recommend this activity for anyone with Back or Neck Issues
- Children must be at least 2 years of age and in a forward facing car seat.
Disclaimers
EVERYONE in your party will need to complete a liability waiver. This will be emailed to you shortly after your reservation is made, this can be shared with the other members of party. Please note that anyone 18 Years of Age or older signing the waiver will be asked for identification.

Why Silver Lake Buggy Rentals?
We have been providing an opportunity for families and friends to ride on the dunes for 24 years and are going into our 25th season! WE prioritize safety through our detailed video and hands on instruction in the Silver Lake Sand Dunes ORV Park. With that being said, it would not be possible without all of the passionate people that make up our team. Most of them have spent their lives on the dunes and genuinely find joy in having the opportunity to share that with others!
Are helmets included?
Yes, Youth and adults helmets are free for you to borrow during your rental. The only charge would be if the helmets were not returned or damaged.
What are the requirements to rent, ride and drive?
To Rent: 18 years of age or older with Valid Identification.
To Ride: Children must be at least 2 years of age and in a forward facing carseat. (No Rear-Facing allowed) If they are below 8 years of age and under 4'9" they must use YOUR booster seat or car seat. Once one of those requirements is met they may legally ride without in the state of Michigan.
To Drive: 16+ with a valid driver's license to drive the 2 seat vehicles (Dune Rover and Rover Max). 21+ with a valid driver's license to drive 4 seat vehicles (Teryx and KRX). 21+ TO DRIVE FOR SUNSET TOUR, NO EXCEPTIONS!
Cancellations
Once a reservation is made if you cancel for any reason there are NO refunds to your method of payment. Reimbursement will be in the form of rescheduling or to a gift card in the full amount paid to be used at any time in operating season or to make a reservation (no expiration).
If trip protection is purchased (+10%) you may cancel up to 24 hours before your reservation time and receive a full refund (excluding the trip protection and booking fee) to your method of payment.
We do sill operate in the rain, we will do our best to reschedule you if possible. Refunds are only provided when lightning is present on the dunes or weather is deemed unsafe.
