Something magical happens to you when you are on an overnight rafting trip. We guarantee no cell phones, no computers, no beeping electric gadgets – just the sound of a crackling campfire and laughter, sleeping under the stars, fresh air, clean water, waking up to a beautiful river, great food, and wonderful memories that will last long after your trip.
We specialize in providing the highest quality overnight experience while on the river. With attention to detail, we plan your trip based on your group’s individual needs and interests. We pride ourselves in our delicious organic meals prepared from scratch, and our friendly experienced river guides.
This seldom run river has beautiful top notch scenery, fun rapids, and amazing solitude. It follows the now abandoned Northwestern Pacific Railway Line. This 46 mile run can be done in 3 days, but is best as a 4 or 5 day expedition trip, leaving time for exploring up tributaries and side canyons. The camping here is excellent, as are the opportunities for spotting wildlife. This run is an excellent option for those really wanting to get off the beaten path and go somewhere not many others ever do. As it is a spring run, the weather can be fickle. April and May are the optimal times to get on the Eel, we launch from Dos Rios and float down to Alderpoint.

"Eel River Canyon in springtime

It was an incredible trip- just the right amounts of adventure, teamwork, relaxation, laughter, nonstop gorgeous scenery, and fabulous food. Pete and his team were the best- great rowers, guides, hard working, funny, fun, and helpful. This particular trip was of great interest to me professionally, as I’m working on a trail project along the river we ran (great redwood trail). They accommodated and encouraged me to explore without interfering with other guests’ needs and interests. I can’t wait for the next trip with Six Rivers. This one was life changing!"
"Six Rivers of Fun

My cousin and I took a four day, three night trip with Pete and his team. If you are even thinking about choosing Six Rivers Rafting to book a trip with, go for it! They are super friendly, funny, and fabulous guides. Oh one more "f" would be "food." They prep and cook delicious meals with high quality ingredients and were careful to accommodate individual dietary needs. There were many spectacular wildlife sightings, including a nesting pair of eagles swirling around in flight, and their fledgling sticking its head out of a huge nest. We also saw a couple coyotes (from the boat), bear tracks, etc. Oh, and my fancy carbon tent poles broke, but fortunately Pete had packed an extra tent! Rafting is quite a luxurious experience compared to backpacking! :) The other guests were lovely, both of them knowledgeable conservationists! As a city person, it was a much needed getaway with delightful people and full of laughter."
