Silent Night, a beloved Christmas carol, was translated into Slovene language and sung for the first time in Tržič thanks to then chaplain Jakob Aljaž. In honour of this unique event we are preparing a special holiday guided experience.

You will learn the secrets of the holiday customs in the Tržič area, enjoy the tantalizing taste of Tržič "flika" and Christmas tea and listen to the sounds of holiday songs and carols, that will warm your heart. The Tekec nativity scene, one of the most beautiful achievements of folk and religious culture in our country will amaze you and the atmosphere of Kurnik House, the oldest house in Tržič, will make the old traditions come alive. Jakob Aljaž, a legendary figure in Slovenian history, grew to love Tržič and through his story and this festive experience you will surely feel the same.
