The Hudson River Gorge is rated one of the top whitewater rafting runs on the east coast. It’s no wonder: the water is exciting, beautiful and the scenery is pristine. Come discover the wildlands of the central Adirondacks on this wilderness adventure.

Lake Abanakee dam releases into the Indian River to ensure a reliable season that runs from April to October. During the summer, Class II and III rapids provide a ride that is appropriate for all kinds of groups. We regularly guide families with children as young as eight years old.

Our just over 16-mile whitewater trip through the Hudson River Gorge starts in the beautiful town of Indian Lake, NY and runs through three miles of Class II & III whitewater on the Indian River.

At the confluence, we float out onto the Hudson River near its source high in the Adirondack Mountains. At this point, we travel through a few scenic miles of flatwater and riffles before we start down into the Hudson River Gorge.

The Gorge is a drop pool formation of one rapid after another. Around the halfway mark is a perfect time to stop and enjoy our homemade riverside lunch!

We’ll get back on the river and continue through more rapids and intentional swim holes before we float out three miles at the end of our river day to the take out in North River.

Upon our return to Square Eddy, enjoy an après’ river snack and view photos taken from your fun-filled adventure.
