About
Felicity Plantation is a historic sugar plantation on the banks of the Mississippi River in the state of Louisiana. Felicity is a sister plantation to St. Joseph Plantation. Construction of the Felicity House took place from 1845 to 1847.
In 1899, Felicity Plantation was purchased by Jean Saturnine Waguespack. In 1901 Saturnine and his cousins formed the St. Joseph Planting and Manufacturing Co., LTD. and merged the St. Joseph and Felicity Plantations. Today, the same family corporation still owns and operates these historic sites.
In addition to sugar farming, Felicity is known for several film and tv projects. These include Skeleton Key, Twelve Years a Slave, parts of the remake of Roots, Underground, and Filthy Rich.
