About

This is a one-time welcome introduction to skateboarding at The Drop for soon-to-be-rippers who are interested but hesitant. If you think you or your child may be into our Drop Skateboard Programming, this is a great opportunity to try it out. Lots of easy skills, enthusiastic instruction, support and stoke. Happy to extend participants for family and/or close friends to try it out together. Includes free equipment rental.

Private Lessons Info 2020

We are stoked to skate with your kiddos! Our crew has been working hard to make the best plans to ensure everyone’s safety, enjoyment and skateboarding progression in these interesting times. Working with State, County and Local agencies, we have received approval to run Skatecamp and Private Lessons from June through August 2020, abiding by the most current Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment guidelines for Children’s Day and Youth Sports Camps.

Private Lessons will meet at the Voodoo Skatepark (across from the Telluride Post Office). Skaters should show up with athletic clothing, closed-toed shoes, a full water bottle and snacks. We ask that all skaters thoroughly wash their hands each morning before arriving to camp/lesson. We will have hand sanitizer readily available for campers, and will be consistently encouraging social distancing (6 feet – or an outstretched arm with a skateboard) between campers (from different families) at all times. Because camp is 100% outdoors, campers are not required to wear a mask or gloves, but of course, may choose to do so.

Coaches temperatures will be taken each day and will wash hands throughout camp. Coaches will wear masks when closer than 6 feet to a child, and have been approved to hold campers hands and/or closely spot them for safety while skating. Coaches will use hand sanitizer between holding campers hands (from different families). If you would prefer coaches to remain socially distanced from your child, and only verbally coach with no hand holding/spotting, please respond as such to this email. AM Camp pickup/release will be at 12Noon from the townpark skatepark, each day.

Please, only come to camp if you and your household are 100% healthy. If you show any of the following symptoms, please do not come to skatecamp (and of course you will receive a full refund):

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Head/body aches
  • Sore throat
  • Nausea
  • Vomitting
  • Diarrhea
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Fever
  • Or have family members/close contacts showing these symptoms

Thank you for taking these precautions. Please feel free to respond to this email with any questions and/or concerns. We feel very fortunate to be able to run Skatecamp, and are stoked to get to skate with your kiddos!

Best,
Craig Wasserman
