Itinerary
Day 1: Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm: Discover the birthplace of Ghana’s cocoa industry and learn about the fascinating process of cocoa cultivation. Gain insights into the legacy of Tetteh Quarshie and how cocoa became one of Ghana's biggest exports.
Aburi Botanical Gardens: Stroll through lush, historic gardens filled with a diverse collection of local and exotic plants. Guided by an expert, you’ll learn about the uses, significance, and history of these remarkable trees and flora.
Umbrella Rock (45-minute hike): This stop offers a choice between a scenic hike through the forest to reach the rock and the three-headed palm tree or an easier drive along a well-maintained road. The Umbrella Rock, situated near Boti Falls, is known for its unique shape and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Day 4. Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park
Begin your journey at Assin Manso, a historical site that served as one of the largest slave markets during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Here, you'll follow the route taken by many enslaved individuals as they prepared for their journey to the coast. This site is deeply emotional, especially for descendants of those affected by the slave trade, as it marks where many took their last bath before being sent away. Assin Manso is also the final resting place for the remains of two diasporans, (Lady Crystal from Jamaica and Carson from New York) symbolizing a return to their ancestral homeland.
Cape Coast Castle
