Choose your equipment: lightweight telemark equipment or AT equipment
This guided instructional tour will bring you to some of Stowe's premier backcountry on a full-day instructional ski adventure. Choose the equipment you would like to ski on during your tour, lightweight 75mm 3-pin telemark equipment or AT equipment. Umiak’s certified backcountry guide will teach proper safety protocol and the necessary safety gear needed before heading into the backcountry. Learn valuable skills in applying, removing, and storing climbing skins or caring for fish scale backcountry gear and operation of the binding as well as other important BC equipment. We will work on different climbing techniques as well as an efficient skin to ski transition prior to a powder-filled downhill run. Intended for intermediate, to advanced alpine skiers and riders that want to expand their comfort level and skills in the backcountry.
