The Original Vermont Bike & Brew Tour
Duration
23 miles, ~3 - 4.5 hours
About
The original Vermont Bike & Brew tour starts and ends in South Royalton, Vermont. Because South Royalton is in the White River Valley, every ride starts with a climb. You will quickly discover the power of the electric assistance as you ascend into the high country of Barnard, Vermont.
Traveling along classic dirt roads through green forests, the first stop along the route is at Kiss The Cow Farm Store. Known for their homemade ice cream, Kiss The Cow stocks all sorts of other Vermont products from coffee to chocolate to fresh produce. You’re bound to find something to enjoy in the moment and something to take home. Kiss The Cow is 24/7 self-service on the honor system.
After having your fill of farm stand treats, the route continues to the Barnard General Store, a vintage Vermont general store that puts out fantastic deli sandwiches. Bring your lunch across the street to enjoy after a dip in Silver Lake.
Be sure to save room for a maple creemee! These Vermont delicacies are just one mile down at Silver Lake Syrups! Owned by Eric & Sonja Withington, you can learn all about the sugaring process while you enjoy your frozen treat. Don't sleep on all the syrups and other goodies they make. Pick some up to take home with you!
A few miles of pedaling brings you to Fable Farm Fermentory, where brothers Christopher and Jonathan always have a special cider or sparkling wine to share. But you shouldn’t expect anything typical about the products from Fable Farm; they are truly one-of-a-kind!
Enjoy the long descent back to South Royalton, and stop into Carlita's Cocina, where Upper Pass Beer Co. has made themselves at home. You'll find a rotating selection of 14 Upper Pass beers to pair with tacos, wings, and more. If you're craving a burger or fried chicken, head over to Worthy Burger. They don't brew beer, but they serve selections from some of Vermont's best breweries.
FAIR WARNING - When booking the Upper Pass Tour, you should be aware that some businesses are not open on certain days of the week. Saturday is the best day for this tour as everything is open.
