Activity details
Welcome to an unforgettable Highland adventure, where we’ll explore the rugged beauty of the Cairngorms, dive into Scotland’s rich history, and enjoy a wee dram of the finest whisky. So lace up your walking shoes and get ready for a grand day out!
We begin our journey in the picturesque village of Carrbridge. Famous for its 18th-century packhorse bridge – the oldest in the Highlands – this wee village is steeped in history. Take a moment to admire the bridge’s weathered stones, shaped by centuries of wind and water, and snap a photo of this iconic Highland landmark.
From here, we travel to Grantown-on-Spey, a charming Highland town nestled in the heart of whisky country. This is the perfect spot to soak in some traditional Scottish hospitality before we continue our adventure.
Next, we make our way to Aviemore, a bustling hub for outdoor enthusiasts, where the towering mountains serve as a stunning backdrop to our journey.
Our first big stop is the magnificent Cairngorm Mountain. This walk will take us through a breathtaking landscape of ancient Caledonian pine forests, heather-clad moors, and glistening lochs. Keep your eyes peeled for red deer, golden eagles, and maybe even the elusive mountain hare. The air is crisp, the views are spectacular, and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Whether we take a gentle stroll or a more challenging hike, the beauty of this place never disappoints.
After our time on the mountain, we journey back in time at the Highland Folk Museum. This open-air museum brings Scotland’s past to life with authentic thatched crofts, traditional blackhouses, and costumed interpreters who’ll show us what Highland life was like centuries ago. It’s a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of the region.
Of course, no Highland tour would be complete without a proper whisky tasting. We’ll visit one of the area’s renowned distilleries, where you’ll learn all about the art of whisky-making – from the crystal-clear waters of the River Spey to the carefully aged barrels that give each dram its unique character. And, of course, you’ll have the chance to sample a few of Scotland’s finest single malts. Slàinte mhath!
As we make our way back, take in the rolling hills, dense forests, and glistening rivers that make the Highlands so special. Whether it's the raw beauty of the Cairngorms, the rich history of the Highlands, or the warmth of a fine whisky, this tour captures the very essence of Scotland.
So, are you ready for an adventure? Let’s hit the road and make some unforgettable memories in the heart of the Highlands!
