FareHarbor 2024: Sailing into change and innovation

A behind-the-scenes-look into FareHarbor's year.

FareHarbor entered 2024 with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and growth. While we anticipated the ever-changing tides of the travel industry, we didn’t make updates to our product or teams just for the sake of change. Every decision, every update, and every interaction had a single purpose: to make experiences better for everyone.

As the year comes to an end, we want to  reflect on how this year marked a significant transformation for FareHarbor — from expanding our teams to rolling out new tools and features designed to empower our clients. Not to mention seeing more of our 20,000+ operators in person than ever before!

FareHarbor in the wild

      

At the heart of FareHarbor are the thousands of amazing tour operators, guides, and staff members who dedicate their lives to hosting exceptional experiences for the world. We made it a priority this year to meet as many of you as we could, including our first Meetup in Hawaii, the birthplace of FareHarbor. Having the chance to connect with our ‘Ohana in Hawaii along with hundreds of local operators reminded us of our “why”, providing face-to-face opportunities to build solutions for the challenges they were facing. 

We also felt the magic of in-person collaboration in New Orleans when 600+ operators, partners and FareHarbor team members gathered for our largest event ever. During the three jam-packed days, industry professionals attended 18 unique sessions, networked with their peers and explored the local city.  

And when we weren’t able to connect in person, we found each other in our online Community, which is now over 2K members strong. It’s a little part of the internet where you can connect with fellow industry peers, get your most urgent questions answered and unlock new announcements as they happen.

Since its inception in 2013, FareHarbor has grown from an idea on the islands of Hawaii to serving more than 20,000 incredible tour and activity companies across the world. With over 125,000 diverse bookable experiences, we help serve a vast customer base who enjoy boat excursions, walking food tours, cooking classes, train rides, ziplining, farm tours, and so much more.

The FareHarbor Distribution Network

2024 was a year of milestones for the FareHarbor Distribution Network. We expanded into new markets with 1,200+ operators joining from New Zealand and Australia. Key markets like Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Florida powered major client growth and visibility, harnessing 14% more bookings than 2023. 

Plus, clients can now connect to 20 more API partners along with major OTAs like Klook, Virgin Experience Gifts, Civitatis, Trip-com (Part of Ctrip), Giftory and ExperienceGifts, and many more. With our new seamless signup, it’s now easier than ever to join the FHDN to expand your reach and boost your bookings.
