How to integrate with Booking.com through FareHarbor

The news is out: Booking.com is now part of the FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN).

With Booking.com joining the FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN), you have the opportunity to connect your tours and activities directly to one of the world’s largest travel marketplaces — all from your FareHarbor Dashboard.

With this new integration, your availability, pricing, and bookings flow seamlessly between FareHarbor and Booking.com, giving you more visibility to travelers while cutting out extra manual work.

Why the Booking.com integration is a game changer

Booking.com attracts millions of travelers every day. By joining FHDN, your business can:

  • Expand your reach: Showcase your experiences to a global audience of hundreds of millions of potential customers.
  • Save time: Real-time updates mean no manual calendar work or juggling availability across platforms.
  • Stay in control: Manage everything right from your FareHarbor Dashboard.
  • Grow your bookings: Get in front of travelers already planning trips in your area.

How to get started

To get your products listed on Booking.com through FareHarbor, you’ll need to:

  1. Join FareHarbor. In order to take advantage of this seamless integration, you must become a FareHarbor operator. Simply request a free demo
  2. Be part of the FHDN. If you haven’t joined or taken advantage of our affiliate program yet, it’s time to learn more about the network
  3. Optimize your items. Use our Content Builder to better organize your listings and meet Booking.com’s content requirements. This will maximize your chances of being featured.

Reminder: Listing on the FHDN doesn’t guarantee placement on Booking.com. The tips below will show you how to strengthen your products for consideration.

Make your items stand out to Booking.com

If you want your products to be featured on Booking.com, quality matters. Affiliates like Booking.com look for listings that are complete, appealing, and trustworthy before deciding which tours to showcase.

Your photos, descriptions, availability, and reviews all play a part in creating a top-tier listing. The more complete and detailed your item description, the more likely affiliates are to promote your items — which means more visibility and more bookings for you.

Use this checklist to boost your visibility and drive more bookings:

  • Show off your experience with great photos: Upload up to 5 high-resolution images (at least 1280px wide) that capture the highlights of your tour. Travelers are more likely to book when they can picture themselves there. Here’s how to add new photos.
  • Keep descriptions short but strong: Aim for 300–500 characters that explain exactly what guests can expect. Use the Content Builder to create a concise, easy-to-read description that builds trust.
  • Make your meeting point clear: Always include either the start location or primary location so travelers know exactly where to go.
  • Use tags to get discovered: Include 1–3 relevant tags so affiliates can better match your products to traveler searches.
  • Keep your calendar built out: Always have at least 30 future availabilities (and ideally 100+) so affiliates like Booking.com have more opportunities to promote your tours. Here’s how to build availabilities
  • Grow your 5-star reviews: Travelers rely on ratings when booking. Aim for a minimum of 4.2 stars on Google or 100+ reviews. Don’t forget to ask for reviews in your follow-up emails.

A few things to keep in mind

  1. Like many OTAs, Booking.com curates which products appear on their site. Traveler demand and destination coverage can change, and if a tour does not match the current requirements, it may not be displayed. Keeping your item content sharp and your availability open increases your chances of being featured.
  2. Booking.com is still in the process of unlocking US domestic visibility. This means if you’re a US operator on Booking.com, your products are viewable to international travelers booking from outside the US — but they may not yet appear for customers browsing from within the United States. If you’re based in the US and want to preview your products on Booking.com, try switching your VPN location to Europe.
